Web pages not showing up correctly?
You may need to clear your "cache" of internet files stored locally on your computer. The cache lets you visit a page and load it quickly from your computer's cache if it has the same timestamp as the remote page. Instead of downloading the same content, your browser displays the local version, saving download bandwith and reducing overall internet traffic. Users that are seeing an old website that they are certain has been updated need to clear their computer's web cache. The old site has been gone since about 7am Monday.How to clear the web cache for users using Internet Explorer:
- in IE, choose "Tools" menu, "Internet Options"
- select the "General" tab on the popup window
- under the "Temporary Internet files" section, choose "Delete Files"
- press "yes" on the popup window
- press "close"
- press "OK" on the window that popped up in step 1
How to clear the web cache for users using Mozilla Firefox
- In Firefox, choose "Tools" menu, "Options".
- Select the "Advanced" icon in the popup window.
- Select the "Network" tab.
- Press the "Clear Now" button under the "Cache" section
- Press OK to return to browsing.
To be extra sure that you are seeing an up to date page, visit PageWash (www.pagewash.com) and enter the website address in the "begin browsing" window to check the address is being properly found. Compare that result to the result of a normal access to the same website to see if you are getting an up to date page.
